Why we are Fans for a Waterfront Stadium:

1) ECONOMIC STIMULUS PACKAGE
The re-development of the Tropicana Site will immediately add dollars back into our economy, at a time when we most need it. It will create 10,000 new construction jobs and new property taxes will be generated on the site that will be create new dollars to be invested DIRECTLY into our public school system, as well as other public services.

2) NO ADDITIONAL TAXES LEVIED ON TAXPAYERS
As a citizen of St. Petersburg and Pinellas County, what you pay now, you will continue to pay with no additional increases as a result of the project.

3) CONTINUATION OF 80 YEAR TRADITION OF WATERFRONT BASEBALL IN ST PETERSBURG
From Babe Ruth to Carl Crawford, baseball has been an almost century old tradition for St. Petersburg. The state of the art stadium on the Al Lang Site, where a stadium already exists, will continue of of St. Petersburg's grandest traditions.

4) ENSURE MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL STAYS IN ST. PETERSBURG FOR OUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN
For close to three decades, St. Petersburg leaders attempted to lure a Major League baseball team to have a permanent home in St. Petersburg. After several unsuccessful attempts, the Tampa Bay Rays began plan in 1998. St. Petersburg is one of twenty-seven cities in the United States to have a Major League baseball team and this new stadium ensure it will stay in St. Petersburg for generations to come.
